Vivaldi Social Mastodon Social Downtime Incident

Thomas Pike, on his blog:

A bug in the code combined with an ill-advised database configuration caused 198 user accounts to be merged to a single remote account. An entire weekend was spent finding the cause and fixing the damage caused.

Great rundown of a ruined weekend because of a service incident. Appreciate the sections where the Mastodon team helpedโ€‰โ€”โ€‰even when it became clear it wasnโ€™t a Mastodon bug.
